Question Help! My bird won't eat Veggies!

Hi everyone! I made this thread, http://www.birdboard.com/forum/thread13774.html
a few days ago, and I tried to feed my budgie (Billy) some australian carrot, broccoli, spinach, and italian parsley. None of these worked! After I had Billy for one week, I tried chopping carrots into tiny pieces, and serving it to him for 3 days. Then I tried another recipie (below):

ingredients:
australian carrot, broccoli, spinach, and italian parsley, seeds

Method
I chopped all the veggies with a chopper, then I added seeds, and chopped a bit more.
The served.

If you have any GREAT methods on how to get your bird to eat veggies, please contact me! budgiebillybob@yahoo.com
Thanks!

I'm not sure why, but some birds take forever - or refuse completely - to eat veggies.

Keep doing what you're doing - but it may take months!!! So don't give up. The other thing you can do is model for your bird. Take bites of veggie when the bird is watching and go cuckoo about how gooooood they are.

Or, model with a friend - feed a friend a bit of veggie and have them go cuckoo and beg for more.

It works...

The other thing you can do that worked for me is hang whole veggies up in his cage so they resemble toys.

Try the sweet potato mash with peanut butter, cinnamon, chilli pepper flakes, and raisens. This seemed to work a treat when I tried it on birds who had never eaten veggies before. be persistent...and have them see you eat it as well, and they may then want it.

If any of your birds eat veggies, the best thing to do is put the non-veggie eaters with them under supervision. Once they see other birds eating veggies and living to tell the tale, they will usually join in. My Tiels have successfully taught Chaska and Manikay to eat veggies, Tjinimin was already eating them.

You know what worked best for me is broccoli. It is the only thing Vincent will eat. I think this is because the little tops resembe seeds to him, but at least its something. Good luck, I am struggling with ya!

I actually ran my mash mix thru the food processor to get my Lovebird to eat it.
