Exclamation is celery good for birds

I have sat here and read every entry for bird recipes and I saw celery a few times as a veggie for them. I know that that celery has a lot of sodium in it, due to a my boyfriend having a stroke last year, and on the top of his raw veggie list as a NO NO was celery. Don't know if this info to pass on to be concerned about or not.

Thanks....

According to this website it is not worth the risk:

http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww18eii.htm

However, that was the only site that popped up during my search that said it is bad. Most others recommended it for parrots in moderation.

I was hoping someone else would post to this. Its not that celery is particularly bad for birds, it just doesn't really have much by way of nutrition for them. It is relatively high in sodium, but none of my birds actually eat it anyway. Its mostly salt water and fiber.

I am confused by one thing on that website- it lists bell peppers as a no-no, but bell peppers provide vitamin D, which parrots cannot make on their own (or it could be some other vitamin, I tend to get things mixed up) so..... are they good or bad? I feed all foods in moderation, but its nice to know which foods to definatly moderate more then others.

Thank you for input. After reading that lettuce gave runny poops to some birds and one you stating it holds no nutrition value in it for them, I will not feed this to her or my others. And as for celery, it stays out of my house! I was just concerned to those that do veed it to their babies. THANK YOU! I WILL KEEP COMING BACK TO SEE HOW OTHERS RESPOND!
