Pasta Casserole

I decided to try something new for Darwin, so I made him a mini-casserole. Here is what I did, and he loved it! Turned out somewhere in between a casserole and a quiche.

1 egg
1 T baby food (I used carrots)
˝ T yogurt
3 T cooked elbow pasta
˝ tsp cayenne pepper
1 T diced green pepper (small)
1 T diced broccoli florets
˝ T shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp hulled millet
Rolled oats or fresh breadcrumbs for the top!

Placed mixture in a small glass ramekin and baked at 375 for 25 minutes (until the egg was cooked).

here are the results:

Yum

Looks so good< I know my senegal would eat that. He just loves pasta cooked or uncooked. He eats all his vegetables.,,,mostly green beans and carrots. I love cooking for him cause he gets so excited about new dishes. He actually shivers at the sight of me bringing him food. He is fat. Thanks again.

Wow that is one of the most appetizing recipes I've seen in a long time. I've bookmarked it, sent a copy to my email address, and have subscribed to this link so I don't lose it. I absolutely must try this on my finicky birds. Thank you!

Grocery list made.... to the store first thing tomorrow...

I'm saying that tomorrow afternoon... My feathered family members will be sending you telepathic "I LOVE YOU"s as I'm certain that they'll eat it up instantly!

And I thank you for providing me instructions for such a unique treat for my birds.

I gotta tell you that you're an absolute genius! I bought all of the ingredients on Wednesday and made up a batch this morning. I didn't want to "waste" it on my Greys since they'd just snub it. So I put some in my three flights of cockatiels, rosellas and doves. Before I left the room, they had already tried it.

I "broke down" and gave some to my Greys. Hansel's beak was immediately covered with the casserole. I was shocked. I offered some to Mickey by hand. He actually took quite a few bites! He is my most finicky eater. I thought I would pass out. So far KoKo hasn't touched it. But, hey, 26 out of 27 birds eating it are fabulous odds!

Thank you thank you thank you!

Awesome! I am so glad they all liked it! You never know when you post a recipe if it is a great one, or if your bird is a piggie and will just eat anything! ;)

I really want to try making this mix without the pasta and then filling ravioli with it. Mini stuffed pastas! I'll let you know if I do it. =D
