Question Juicing Pulp - as food?

I was doing a juicing tonight for my family & was wondering if the rather damp pulp would be interesting or even a good idea for my mom's tiels - cooked into a muffin mix? - just frozen in cubes as is? - added to mixed veggies?
Any thoughts?
We buy certified organic by the way.

I imagine it'd be a good way to add fiber to the diet--and some amount of vitamins/minerals/enzymes/etc.

I wouldn't rely on it as a great source of nutrition but you certainly could incorporate some of it into the diet now and then.

My question is this:

If you take out the water using a high quality juicer, would the resulting pulp then swell in the crop when water is added back to the fibers?

Well I don't have a high quality juicer - but it's Ok - so the pulp still has some life (moisture & flavour) to it. I think 'some' may be used just as a fiber fill idea, maybe added to baking. But seriously - do birds have a fiber problem?

I was worried that the texture might be a problem - not it swelling - but I would be more than horrified if it had an adverse reaction like blocking the crop...when it's re-hydrated I think it just collapses...
When I juice cucumber for example there is even more moisture left over in the pulp - usually I re-juice it to max. the amount of juice I can get but it makes the juice a little thicker. I was hoping to use the pulp creatively - as I live in an apartment, composting is not yet available to us - & I'm thinking about treats for my Mom's tiels.

More thought has to be done - the pulp still has some life but not like a whole carrot etc. Maybe they'll like some carrot cake if i can save some from the hungry hoard. ...Or Birdy Cake so humans wont eat it!
You've given me pause for thought. Thanks

I juice carrots regularly to mix with orange juice. Ringo loves drinking from my cup when I am having some.

So, don't forget about the juice!

I agree with the above. juicing is what birds do naturally...as they grind it up in their beaks and drop the remaining bits (or at least i see pattie, fluff, and bindy doing this).
if it's not a good juicer, then there is probably some nutrition left in it. otherwise, i'd think it'd just be fiber without much nutrients.
