I need recipes please

I have two parakeets and I need some recipes. They are picky and haven't eaten much of the treats I got them. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Some favorite recipes

My fids love cornbread!

Some of their favorites include
~ Regular cornbread mix~
with organic sweet potatoe baby food and corn added.
Bake as directed for cornbread.

~Mexican cornbread mix~
with garden vegetable baby food and chopped fresh carrots

They also love peanut butter and celery or smashed banana and peanut butter. Peanut butter is very high in fat and should not be served everyday.

I personally clean all my fruits and vegetables with organic apple cider vinegar to kill any bacteria or pestacides that may be on it. Then rinse well with water.

I had to teach all of my birds to eat healthy by eating in front of them healthy food and making a big fuss about how delicious it was.

Also be patient most birds will not eat something new the first time it is served to them. I waste a lot of food.

Good Luck! :D

picky eaters

I have an amazon a teil and 2 finches. each picky. I got my amazon to try different food by dehydrateing it and then crushing it up with a blender or something like that and sneak it in his food. now he has to try everything we eat. My finches and teil are on their way. We had the amazon a year longer. try birdie bread see if they like it and then sneak in finely chopped up veggies in the bread. good luck

Parakeets will often eat different foods clipped to the side of the cage, you can use a clothespin or there are clips you can buy. Try dark leafy veggies, broccoli, carrot chunks to begin with, try lots of different things to see what they like. I also add petamine to their seed and a Zupreme Parakeet pellet. I've raised a lot of keets and they are hard to convert to pellets, but they seem to do well on this mix.
