Beak Appetit Recipe?

I'm a big fan of Beak Appetit (calypso spice and cinnamon sunrise) but don't like paying $16 for 2.5 lbs. I was wondering if anyone had a good clone recipe that cooks up just as fast...4 minutes in the microwave.

Hmm, well I have never tried to cook anything else. Maybe you can make birdy mash. With fruit or Vegtable baby food, mashed potatoes, fresh and dry vegtables and fruit, seeds. Anything that your bird likes. Just cook it for a few minutes in the microwave and let it cool down in the freezer a little bit before giving it to you fids.

You might want to try a search on Mikes Mannah Mash, Kitchen Sink, or 7 Layered Salad....

Of course, making food to last a week or more helps!

Just make sure if you search for the seven layer salad it is the birdie salad LOL! We have a recipe for seven layer salad for people that really wouldn't be very healthy for birds it has iceberg lettuce, cheese, peas, mayonnaise, sugar, onions, bacon bits, and celery or green peppers.

But really the seven layer birdie salad is quite good for the birds and a lot of non veggie eaters seem to get the hang of eating it really well. The first couple days they will look at it or pick at it but after that they dig right in.

Also the Kitchen sink recipe posted on here is loved by most of my birds and the birds in the rescue so thanks Nancy LOL!!

I haven't tried the Beak Appetite (SP?) but does it have an ingredient label you might be able to somewhat look at and come up with your own, if you are an imaginative cook that is. I am when I have time but that is few and far between.
