Our avian vet had told us they were fine in moderation but are quite acidic and can sometimes cause yeast problems as well. We usually let ours have tomatoes if we are eating them but don't put them in their usual birdie salad or main foods.

Somewhere or other I had gotten the idea that tomatoes weren't a good idea. If they are ok, that would be great!

I have never heard that tomatoes were bad. I have offered them to Ollie, but she doesn't really care for them. Seems the list of things we shouldn't give our fids is growing... With the exception of the really bad stuff (ie chocolate, avocadoes, alcohol) I just feed in moderation!

Perhaps one of the reasons you might have heard they are bad is because they are often heavily sprayed, if you have any doubts go organic. My CAG loves cherry tomatoes.
