Coconut is a fantastic treat food, dry or fresh. Obviously birds will prefer it fresh to any dried stuff.
It's actually more fatty than sugary, so feed in moderation & get some flight training exercises on the go afterwards!

My guys love it!
We get a fresh one every month. Hubby cuts it into 8ths and drills holes so they can be strung up on the toys they play with. Usually will put a new section up every other week. When we were trying to get Angel-Rose (GW) to gain weight, we gave her a new section every week. Sailor the B&G is at a good weight, but he had never had it that we know of, so this is his first experience with the 'real' thing, and he's finding it interesting. |

I give raw--freshly cracked coconut to my fids. They just like to bite and toss it around. They'll actually eat the dried coconut from their food mixes though.
