Water chestnuts in Oriental veggies??
We serve Oriental style veggies to Grace.
It has Broccoli florets, Sugarsnap Peas, julienne Carrots, yellow sweet Peppers, & Water chestnuts. We also mix in some of my cooked rice pasta. The only ingredient I'm not completely sure of is the water chestnut. I haven't heard anything to the contrary, but Water chestnut is OK for birds right?????? Grace seems especially found of them. OH yes, and what's the low down on rice? Due to my allergies, it's one of the staples in my diet. We usually use Uncle Ben's, but also some wild brown. I assume both are OK for birds as well.

Grace really likes the veggies, but she's not so fond of the pasta.

I never thought of tryin to give fids water chestnuts...
Ok... have been working on batch of spinich/artichoke dip today... for some reason keep thinkin of Jeth Freyja is still like mikey.. will try and eat ANYTHING I put in cage... hers is gone..... Tweety ... looked at me like .. this is NOT fid food... his is still in cage... only one miniscule bite gone after 1 1/2 hr... away water chestnut goes to compost .. He is the one who is picky... have gotten him to finally eat more fresh veggies more in the past 2 months (would only take a couple of bite of ks before)... by example... if Freyja will eat it... he will at least trrrrry it... The jury is still out... as far as Tweety is concerned about pellets ... have tried 3 different types... will take a couple of bites only... have managed to get them in him... by way of birdy bread Suz
