A Simple Egg

On occasion I give my guys a simple scrambled egg, with the shell, and they will nibble on it.
I just tried something a little different with huge success! I scrambled the egg with a little red pepper flake and a little Red Palm Oil. They all ate it down! My CAG is giving me his "hoot of approval". He's my food critic!

I read that leaving the egg shell in it is a good source of calcium and the proteins in the egg are very beneficial. I also believe that the fat in it is a "good fat" in moderation of course. I mainly used it as a vehicle for consuming the Red Palm Oil as well as Avian Trio. As I carefully give my guys healthy fats, Im noticing healthier feathers especially on my CAG. In my opinion, and Im not expert, I really believe they need help stimulating their oil glands, and this can come from a healthy fat source. Anyone feel free to correct me if Im wrong. And please note, Im not suggesting a high fat diet!

valo loves eggs as well... but i only give it every now and then... (since i'm not a big fan of scrambled eggs, i need somebody around who eats the rest )
i keep the egg shells and sometimes just sprinkle it over the food for the Ca.

My two get half a hardboiled egg with shell once a day, one week on, one week off.

I also make scrambled eggs for them on weekends. I also sprinkle them with red pepper flakes and sometimes cayenne or paprika too.

Scrambled eggs are part of Spencer and Tristans breakfast (among other things). I also leave the shells in, and they both seem to really love it!! I, too, sprinkle red pepper flakes in!!

I hard boiled some eggs yesterday, mostly for me, but I gave some to my budgies. At first they didn't touch them, but I went out, and when I came back, they were completely gone! I guess they liked them, lol. They are very picky eaters, so this is very good news for me.
