A quick question

With the holidays fast approaching, I was wondering if you could give your birds a small sample of stuffing? I thank you for any responses.

i guess it depends on the ingredients...its basically bread, but i would be worried about salt content. and the lots of butter part that usually accompanies good stuffing....not too good for birds.

I agree; I always try to give my fid foods that haven't been salted, and birds aren't able to process lactose like us mammals do. However, I think that a VERY small portion (a tablespoon full would probably do for a 'tiel) of stuffing would be ok to share, since it IS a special occasion... A small amout of cranberry sauce would also probably be a big hit (beware of stains and red poop!), and small amounts of turkey would be ok, too.

The stuffing has chicken mixed in with it. It wouldn't be a huge amount, less than a tablespoon.

Ollie gets a little bit of whatever I eat, all the time, unless its toxic to her. she will get some of everything we have for Thanksgiving, besides desert.

Chicken is good for parrots.

It will be perfectly fine. Enjoy your Thanksgiving and let your birds enjoy theirs too.

I actually made turkey last week and the birds had some for several days afterward. They loved it.

Little Man enjoyed his stuffing. Baby Girl looked at it and Monkey had nothing to do with it at all. I can't get Missy to eat anything like that.
