Chicken bone question

I just boiled a bunch of chicken legs. My dogs get the chicken, but I want the bones for my birds. How do you store the bones? Fridge or freezer?

Bones for birds??? Huh... wha....? Ok, someone educate me about bones for birds please....

I wouldn't even think of that on my own... especially chicken bones... don't they "splinter" like needles and that's why you don't give them to dogs as it could puncture the stomach? Or am I wrong about that?

Anyhow... seriously... bones for birds??? anyone... help me understand the concept/benefit as I've never really thought of it for them. Any info is appreciated!

I feed chicken bones to Zazu as a treat. Only the large leg bone though. He loves to eat the marrow.

Iris LOVES chicken bones.
Birds tend not to eat thier foods whole. They much prefer to grind down. Therefore, no worries of splintering. Wood splinters too but no worries there either. The bone marrow is actually good for the birds too.
No cooked chicken bones for dogs, raw bones are actually good for the dogs though as they don't splinter and help clean the teeth.

My birds get chicken bones at least once a week. My daughters use to say that I only cook chicken for the family to give the birds the bones...LOL

I give them the big leg bones. They eat the inside..it really is good for them. I also believe what has already been said, wood splinters too.

I have macaws and U2, and the 2 little guys, ,I call the BFA and SI the little guys, I crack them for them with the pliers, like crab legs. The Macaws have NO problem cracking their own.

My YNA, and my CAG love chicken bones, preferably without any chicken on them. Since I always cook chicken, beef or turkey for my dogs, I thought I would save the bones, but I'm not sure how to store the bunch that I have.
Is it better to freeze them and take them out as I need them, or will they stay in the fridge?
I read somewhere on here, I think about a special needs CAG, that chicken bones twice a week is a good way to give the greys calcium. I have always given them bones, just not on a routine basis. But now I would like it to be a routine, especially for my CAG, and he enjoys it soo much!!!!!
I would also like to say what a wonderful site this is, I've learned so much.
I always say, you learn something new everyday, and on here I truly do!!
