Concoctions.....

I usually put together "kitchen sink" recipes and make enough to freeze.

Tonight however, I only had 2 partial bags of 2 different Kitchen Creations, so cooked them up, then added ChickPeas and carrots, and rice, then cut up apples, melon and canteloup in it, good grief they are not coming up for air yet!

They are such little piggies! But I have blessed silence in the house!

Don't ya love it when you cook something and they just dive right in! I made a form of the kitchen sink recipe last night. I added in a red, green and yellow pepper and some wheat grass, along with a bag of frozen veggies. Should last us a good month or more!

I do the same thing and mix it up a bit. I think Parrot recipes are the only thing I can actually cook..

If you have one of those vacuum sealers.
I make the recipes and bake them in the mini-muffin papers. I freeze them after they are cooled and then take the frozen muffins and seal, then put back in the freezer for individual servings.
Take them out in the winter, zip into the microwave, and just set the whole thing into each cage. They not only get the treat, but get to shread the papers!

Putting several of my bird recipes in the following messages. Most I've gotten from others and have tried out on my crew. If it wasn't liked, it just didn't get made again.

Annie's Birdie Bread

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ingredients

2 boxes Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
4 eggs
1/4 cup milk
3 tbs oil
1 cup raisins
1 cup diced apple
1 cup grated carrots
1 cup grated zucchini
Procedure

Pre heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix first 4 ingredients together in a large bowl. Add next 4 ingredients and mix well. Grease and flour 2 bread pans ( I used Pam and it worked just as good). Bake at 400 for 35 minutes. Variations: You can substitute any fruit or veggie such as: blueberries, cranberries, bananas, broccoli, squash, cauliflower, green beans, rasberries, spinach, nuts, pineapple, etc..... You can also use other muffin mixes, like oatmeal, bran, banana nut and blueberry. Be creative and use your imagination. You can slice and freeze the bread and defrost the slices as you need them. My CAG Loves to eat a slice each morning, after I warm it up for him.

Recipe originally posted on www.birdsnways.com
I start using red palm oil. adding that to the mix, and greasing the pan Excellent for feathers, and skin!

1/2 cup shredded carrot.
Mix first five ingredients, blenderize the eggs with shell, add oil, sugar, Apple, and carrot, and blenderize briefly. add this to dry mixture, stir until just combined.
Spoon into well greased muffin tins. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, for 20--25 minutes or until springy to touch.
cool thoroughly, store in freezer.
Recipe suggestion, sometimes I will add a tablespoon of crushed oyster shell.

*some birds have difficulties/allergies to wheat flour Barley flour may be substituted
