I've heard of this before, with budgies, and read a bit having to do with larger parrots (this part was in an article). I don't remember when I last read all this, however, it can happen, but its a low possibility that it will.
I know plenty of people who feed their birds eggs, especially their breeder birds and usually never have a problem. I feed my birds boiled or scrambled eggs, and though I don't have any breeder birds, some have laid eggs in the past. Only once did I have two birds breed and raise two chicks. I've never had any problems with them eating their own eggs. I'm just saying that it's perfectly fine feeding your birds eggs. If they do end up breeding and end up eating their own eggs, it's most likely due to their mate, their location, or if something has happened that have scared them (such as a lightning and thunder storm). Rarely do birds ever get a liking to eating their own eggs (or others), and for even that, rarely do parrots get a liking for blood. I've heard of both happening, but it's still rare to ever happen. As long as the birds are healthy (fed a variety of foods daily, besides seeds), and if they may be breeder birds (say they are happy with their mates, which might be hard to tell untill they breed, and there is nothing wrong with their environment), then they have no reason to be eating their own eggs, or killing their chicks. So if everything is met, then it's fine to feed them eggs. Feeding your birds eggs also keeps them healthier and provides them with essential vitamens, calcium, things that they need that they may not be able to get from other food sources.

boiled egg
Hi there
Have just started feeding my little beloved boiled egg (teaspoon) a day any more than that and I find he gets the runs pretty bad. He is only eating that and seed and a little brocoli, can anyone suggest anything else he is about nine weeks old. cheers |

Any fresh/frozen fruits and veggies, apples, carrots, lettuce (all types), bananas, cabbage, cooked potatoes, corn, beans/green beans, strawberries, etc...
Just stay away from avocados, the pits of some fruits (such as apples and grapes)... Try feeding cooked rice (brown rice is best, even cooked with veggies for a mix) or pasta, and whole grain breads...

Just for the record, apple seeds are bad, but grape seeds are very GOOD. THE OUTLAW

Just a note, you should never re-heat eggs for your bird. Feed them freshly cooked egg only. I remember something about bacteria levels getting too high if egg even sits cooked in the fridge for any length of time.
Plus, birds don't need cooked egg everyday. I think that a teaspoon everyday might be a bit much, I would worry that they would be getting too much protien and get sick from too much protien. I breed cockatiels and I feed eggs once or twice per week. And I give a teaspoon per pair. Just a thought. I also pull the egg out after about 1 hour.

boiled egg bad?
Boiled eggs are not bad. As with all foods, in moderation so everyday would be too much. I usually use an egg food here which all the canaries, budgies and tiels like. That way I don't have to worry about how long it has been in the cage.
