One thing I have done is just to decrease the sugar in the reicpe. The sugar is to make it sweet for us, your birds won't notice. Sometimes I need to cut back on the liquid just a tiny bit if I cut back on the sugar.

there is no reason to add any sugar to a bird recipe. Just healthy ingredients - whole grain flours, unsweetened fruit juice or water, egg, pureed or finely chopped vegetables, etc.

I just mix corn meal with any kind of whole grain flour. I'll add an egg or two and and veggies or fruits!
Sometimes I puree the fruits. Sometimes I use a food processor. Sometimes I chop things finely. I like to mix it up to keep the birds guessing :) |
