Those borrow count as owning one?LOL She is not actually mine I just ride her, but she is a sweet heart. I am the only one that rides her and practice with, so I consider her my horse. She is a palomino and is about 21 yrs. old. I am a begginer rider so she goes easy with me, on occasions, just don't show her some barrels!!!!!

Palominos are not a breed but a color of horse. You can have a quarter horse that is palomino, a pintabian that is palomino... basically any breed can come in palomino coloring- even arabs, although it is extremely rare and some disbute the palomino coloring is technically 'chestnut'.

That was during the fall but now that winter hit she has lost a lot of weight. I went to see her 2 weeks ago and boy did she loose a lot of weight. But Bob (owner) says that she will gain weight this spring and that he was going to feed her more grain. We were desputing if she really was 21 or around there. We know though that she is an older lady

Palomino coloring is a sorrel carrying a double dilute gene, while a bay is a black carrying a single dilute gene leaving the points, mane and tail black.
Our Palomino AQHA stallion bred to our bay AQHA mare produced a flaxen sorrel filly this year, which makes her double dilute as well (at first we thought she might be red dun, but now that her mane is getting longer, it's turning more blonde). You can check my "hoof kids" out at index
