Talking Sizzle's first time out

Okay, since I ended up riding Sunny yesterday, I took Sizzle out today and ponied her off Letrero. This was her very first time out of the pasture let alone off the property!

She wasn't at all sure she wanted to be taken down the road. No, she was more interested in grazing or napping or both. She's got the most laid back personality, but sometimes I think it's just that Sizzle (just like her daddy, Sunny) is just too lazy to be worried about anything! LOL!

Anyway, I took her the half mile to the end of our road. The first part of that excursion was convincing her that no matter how much she protested, she was going to follow. I had her lead securely dallied to the saddle horn, and when she'd try to plant her feet, I'd just nudge Letrero, and he'd put his head down and kick it into gear. After 5 minutes of protesting, Sizzle finally relented and realized that walking with us was a lot EASIER than trying to resist. She was good as gold the rest of the way to the end of the road and back home. Total distance for her today was 1 mile. Good girl Siz!

I am sooooo jealous of anyone that owns horses. That is the one animal that I have wanted to own ever since being a little girl but haven't had the chance to yet. I am excited about Christmas because my boyfriend's cousin works at a stud farm in New York, so anytime we go to visit I get my horse fix. He has promised that this year he will have taught two of his horses to pull a sleigh so we may get to go on my first real sleigh ride for Christmas. I am super excited!!!

Oh my gosh, that sounds like so much FUN! Believe it or not, I've never been in a horse drawn sleigh. That would just be awesome! Buggy rides are fun, but I've always wanted to ride in a sleigh through the snow. With lots of hot chocolate at the end of course! Now I'm jealous!!!
