painting wood for a playstand.

hey guys i was just wondering where you can get i guess safe paint for the wood on my playstand im making.... help me out here! lol. what is it called the paint that is that is safe for birds?

I would not consider any paint to be bird-safe. Besides, why would you want to paint a playstand? You know the first thing your birds will do is peel the paint anyway.

You can dye the wood using human-safe food coloring or the icing gels used to decorate cakes, etc. I usually make a paste with the gels with a little water and 'paint' it on using a regular brush. Just be sure you let it dry thoroughly.

You can also get VittaCritter dyes, they are designed for birds. They aren't really cheap, but one small bottle lasts a long time!
