I've read about the warnings of pvc on another board, and from what I am told, it is mainly the soft, pliable pvc that they are warning about. I'll have to go surf the forums and find the article.
SCH 40 (I think that's the correct one) is used for drinking water, which is the pipe I use for my birds. I seriously doubt there is any lead in it, although I'm sure someone here has an opinion that differs.

I wanted to add.....if your bird can chew on this then I wouldn't use it as a chew toy either....but as a perch or gym shouldn't be a problem.

just a stupid question, is it bad to leave the ink on the PVC? Also I use PVC for some of my bird toys, my bird chews teh pvc but doesn't ingest it he just chips it off like he does to wood and drops little slivers of white plastic on the ground? i amging to try teh acetone to remove the barcode and lettering, what is teh best way to remove the acetone residue afterwards rubbing Alcohol?
