DIY Shower Perch

Has anybody ever done their own shower perch for their fids? I wanted to buy one but the ones I see on the petstores are kind of big and a little too expensive for me at this time. I am saving my money and I really need one for Maxy and Nimbus as they tend to fall of the towel rail thing that is in the bathroom. I was wondering if anybody ever done their own shower perch, if so could you pass the recipe....or what ever it's called lol!?!?!?!?!

What I did was get one of those tension shower curtain rods and wrapped the middle of it with vet wrap. I stick it in for the birds to shower on and take it out and put it in the corner of the bathroom when not in use. Works well for us. Of course - it might not work so good if you were actually wanting to be in the shower at the same time as your bird(s).

They like to take a shower with me if I am not with me they will not move they will stay in the same position and only get sooking wet and not "shower" I don't think it would work if I have to be out of the shower.

Being my budgie is so small he can fit on a normal perch in the corner of the shower. Will See if I can get a pic of it.

*grabs fid & disappears for a few minutes*

He has the perch on the mirror that he sits on after I get out to dry himself off on, and the one in the corner of the shower, just above the dial.

Please excuse the bad pics, the bathroom is dark & my cam flash wouldn't work.

An old plastic perch or thick stick, and some plastic hooked suckers, 20 from the £1 shop down the road.

I can't imagine making a T stand from varnished dowel would be too hard either for bigger birds. As for fitting in aswell, I wouldn't really shower with a bird any bigger than a quaker anyway.. being in the nud with something that can draw blood or sever something in one nip...? I'd have to have one hell of alot of trust for that bird right there hehe.

A friend of mine with a red macaw also made his fid a T stand with some old plumbing pipes with great ease.
