Rafia

Hi! I just went to the dollar store to get some items to make toys for my fids. I was wondering if rafia is safe?

Yes raffia is safe as long as you get a kind that is all natural. Some have been treated or sprayed with some substance. If in doubt try to contact the manufacturer. Also a hint when using it in toys, keep the pieces shorter. Some don't seem to break as easily and depending on the size of your bird they could get a nail or toe caught in it. Otherwise it works great. Our birds love shredding it in foraging toys.
