We have our kids in the living room with us. When we watch tv, they do too. In fact when we are not going to be home if we do not leave the tv on we leave a Sesame street or other type of DVD in for them! They also like the music channel!

Our Tv is pretty heavy and they do not go on top of it so there is no reason for us to secure it.

I don't have a separate bird room - so both my birds are in the living room along with the TV. There's no need to secure it... neither really seems to pay any attention to it -- unless it's emitting noises that get their attention... like beeping and ringing, which they don't like. Otherwise they don't pay any attention... even those "Bird Sitter" DVDs don't get much reaction from them.

All of our birds are in the living room with the TV......They love it.......I catch them all the time watching it, as if they were trying to learn something. But actually I think they just like all the colors that come from it. But none of our birds are too close to it though. We even have to leave it on when we leave the house. It helps to keep them calm......So, not a problem for us.

I've got a tv in mine, it just sits on a regular old tv stand. Not sure what effect if any it has on them, but I think I've caught them watching spongebob a time or two.
