I don't have a separate bird room - so both my birds are in the living room along with the TV. There's no need to secure it... neither really seems to pay any attention to it -- unless it's emitting noises that get their attention... like beeping and ringing, which they don't like. Otherwise they don't pay any attention... even those "Bird Sitter" DVDs don't get much reaction from them.

All of our birds are in the living room with the TV......They love it.......I catch them all the time watching it, as if they were trying to learn something. But actually I think they just like all the colors that come from it. But none of our birds are too close to it though. We even have to leave it on when we leave the house. It helps to keep them calm......So, not a problem for us.
