As far as Crash, well you can teach him how to fly better! I remember once buying a budgie and later having to clip his wings so that he would actually eat (I was afraid he was going to starve himself, so I clipped his wings and took him out of quarantine to put with my other budgies... he finally ate!). Because I clipped his wings however, once they grew back in, he couldn't even get 2 inches off the floor, so through some vigorous training, he actually learned how to fly again, and fly well!
