[FONT=Arial] Hey everyone, I have a parakeet who has been with me for about 2 years and I wanted to know, what are some good ideas to get him to bathe properly. I usually hold him and spray him but he doesn't like it all and it's a battle to clean him. I'm kinda new at this bird thing but if anyone could lend some advice please please do share. Thanks !!

Budgies like to bathe in various ways! This can include giving them some wet parsley, or wet lettuce, spritzing them with a spray bottle, taking them in the shower with you with cool water, getting a chemical pump from a hardware store (one that has never been used, you just pump air into it to give pressure, then push a button or lever of sorts to let the water spray), taking him outside in his cage while its raining (not a hard downpour, but not quite a sprinkle either) or even using a hose on 'spray' or 'mist' while he's outside in his cage!
Some birds enjoy bathing in their water dishes or in a shallow container, some will even bathe when one uses the vaccuum cleaner!
