hey im new to his forum and i own a 4 month old quaker.
and im scared because 10 min ago, he was moving his neck up and down.. fast like extending it and i thought he was tryin to talk but i felt something commin from his mouth and i thought he was choking... he seems 100% fine and chirps and is active but he felt sleepy right after, and when he went to sleep after his neck kinda sticks out forward is this common? |

Welcome to the world of birds! I'm not sure about the neck, though as far as his 'head bobbing', he regurgitated food to you! Don't worry, it only means he loves you!

LOL..Great pics and welcome!
Is that a 'real' RC car, or a store version? Reason I ask is my daughter and hubby are getting into RC racing...Steph would love to find somebody who loves birds and RC's to chat with! |

Welcome to the world of quakers. I have a five month old and since it's my first bird, I am still surprised by the things he does. My baby usually naps after a feeding.

Welcome to the board. I do think I should point out for both you and your Quakers safety that its very riskly to wear jewelry, especially ear studs around ANY parrot. Sooner or later, that earring will come off and you'll be terrified that she's devoured the back clip. It happens all the time and it can be fatal.
The longest I've ever successfully managed to keep a necklace on with ANY of my birds is less than 5 minutes. They snap the chains with one bite. Just thought I'd point out what is obvious to long time bird owners. I've spent WAY too much on jewelry repairs.

...adorable bird!
Yeah, you have to watch the jewellery...the instant we let our Amazon out of her cage, the day we brought her home...she promptly ran up hubby's shoulder and bit through his heavy silver chain . I had it repaired for him - he was NOT happy.A couple of days later, she pulled out my new crystal stud! The butterfly came off, but I had to wrestle her off my shoulder, onto my lap, and try to get the post out of her mouth...LOL...was that ever hard! If a parrot doesn't want to let go, then the parrot has the advantage! I managed to finally get the post out - bent beyond repair...but she kept the crystal! Luckily it didn't do any damage. Now I just take off all my jewellery when I come home...cheaper that way BTW...how's Manitoba? I grew up in Winnipeg's North End.
