Smile Newbie here....

Hello,
My name is Laura and I'm new to birdboard. I work in a pet store that specializes in birds(little over 12 years) and I feel like no matter how long you've had birds or worked with birds, there's always something to learn. This is one of the best sites I have been to and I am so glad to be a part of it. My flock contains tiels, conures, lories, keets, an african grey with disabilities, a rosey boa, a cuban tree frog, 1 cat, 1 dog, and 2 kids. :)

Hi Lisa,
My greys name is Jerry Byrd. He's been a part of our family for the last 7 years. He too has a twisted neck. He has a really hard time holding his head straight, therefore shakes a lot. He is a picker too. When he first come to live with me, he was between 6 months and a year old, judging by the eye color.
He was thin, plucked and had mutilated himself. It only took a few weeks and lots of tlc before we became the best of buddies. Unfortunately, he still plucks, usually starting in July, and fortunately the mutilations stopped years ago.

Laura, do you have a picture of Larry you would like to share?
I have several friends who have birds with the same 'specialness' and I am compairing notes and pictures. We kinda formed/forming a little club of sorts to share information and Dr visits with eachother. If you are interested, PM me your email. I will forward it to the other special bird moms, and maybe since Larry is older then our guys, you might have some knowledge to help us down the road!
