Hello all,

New member from NC. I foster for Phoenix Landing and have an Amazon of my own. At the present time, I am fostering a Eclectus and a Grey. They are both sweethearts. I don't look forward to the day they are adopted. I will miss them dearly but have to make room for new fosters. I hope to get to talk to some of you guys soon.

Welcome. Are you by any chance Ann? Were you at a seminar yesterday with the Ekkie and grey? If so, Tammy (Wildirish) was very impressed and speaks highly of you.

In any event, we're glad you've joined our little group.

Welcome to our group. Fostering must be quite challenging. It must be difficult when their forever family comes. Do you keep in touch with them after they leave? Glad to have you with us.

No, I'm not Ann. It's Robin, yes, the one with the Ekkie and the Grey. Tammy is a very nice person and very bird knowledgeable. I hope to get to speak to her and alot more of you here. Right now, I'm on my way out the door for a trip up to Clyde. I'll be back later tonight and hope to get to talk to some of you.

kp_in_scott......it is fun to foster. I love it. Just getting to know so many different birds. We do keep in touch with them after they find their forever homes with home visits. It's nice to have them placed in forever homes but as I said, hard to let them leave.

Joe...I don't have a favorite. I love them all. They all have their own personalities and it's so much fun getting to know them.

Oh, but I have been so lucky so far. I have just started fostering for Phoenix Landing since they moved into the Asheville, NC area a few months. So, I have only fostered the 2 fids that I have now. And, lucky me, they are both little angels. I know the day will come that I get a few that are not so nice, and a few that are just down right mean but we take the bad with the good. I'm sure that I will be here asking for advise from you more experienced handlers.....

Thank you all for the nice welcome. I'm very glad to be here.

Welcome - I am visiting Tammy next month, and bringing my 3 cockatoos with me. It would be wonderful to meet you in person while I am there!

Contact me through my email address which should be posted here. If it isn't, let me know. Maybe we can make arrangements to meet for lunch or maybe I can get up with Tammy and meet you guys at her house. I don't have her number though. Maybe she will see this and get in touch with me through my email as well. I would love to meet her birds as well. She fell in love with Ruby (the ekkie that I am fostering). I'm sure that she would like to see again.
