Smile Hello!

Hello! I'm new to this board.. Some of you may remember me from the BirdTalk forums. My name is Julia, and my flock currently consists of:

20 breeding parrotlets (I currently breed Pacifics ((Normal, American Yellow, and Blue)) Green Rumps, and Spectacled)

2 companion parrotlets (KC, the green rump ((Pictured in my avatar)) and Chloe, my husbands pacific) KC is my little sweetheart - I love her to death. Chloe sort of hates me.. (LOVES my husband dearly though). She can be a bit stand-offish (Thats a parrotlet for you!)

1 peach faced lovebird, Alex. He's my big baby. He's got a very laid back personality. Heres some pictures of him (First two taken with my horrible camera, last taken with my neighbors camera):

1 hybrid conure, whom we adopted from a rescue about a year ago. He's a feather plucker and an excessive screamer.. but we love him anyways. (His name is Pickle) Heres a few pictures of him:

1 green naped lorikeet, Pahgi (Short for Pahjamas). He's a big clown. He's bonded mainly to my daughters. Some pictures of him:

Well, thanks for reading my novel. I look forward to contributing to the discussions!

Well, he's a rescue bird, so we don't really know.. but I do have some educated guesses.

I think he does have some finsch in him (Or mitred, waglers, one of those conures with the red on its head!) and a white-eyed conure (Or astec).

Beautiful little bird you have there!

Mr Five, I'm pretty sure Pickles is no gold capped or even half moon conure! Just look at these photos!

Size might implicate that Pickles is either a finsch or waglers conure (these are the two species of conures he most resembles).

Here is a finsch conure...

Here is a waglers conure (a.k.a. red fronted conure)...

If you look close enough, the main thing you can notice between these two birds is whether or not the red on their forehead touches their eye rings.

Pickle looks most like a finsch conure, and he may be 100% finsch, however the "x-mas" conures get confused so easily that it's hard to tell them apart to the untrained eye (took my several months to figure out what Noel was for sure when I had first gotten her!). Because of this, there is a high possibility that many of our so called purebreds are actually hybrids (which is true in lovebirds...).

I would guess that if Pickle really IS a hybrid he's either a finsch OR waglers crossed with a white-eyed, but who can be sure with his unknown background. Maybe he's not a hybrid at all in which case he'd fit in as a finsch conure. I doubt however that he has any mitred, cherry head, hispaniolan or even cuban conure in him...

Anyway, that was just a bit more information, hard to say if it would be any helpful or not... though I thank you too for the comment! I'm sure many though would love to see the p-let photos, as they seem to be taking over the world!
