Hello

Well lets see...
My husband and I(and kids) live in Central MN and have many birds. We are partial to conures, esp. cherry heads. We have 3 cherry-head conures, 8 green cheeks, 2 IRN, 2 sengals, 3 lovebirds, 2 adult peach-fronts and are hand-feeding 5 baby peach-fronts. So needless to say our house gets very noisy from time to time, esp when someone tries to use the phone
It is nice to be here and talk with others who love their birds.

Thanks
Kari

YAY!!!!!!!!!! Another cherry head lover!!! YIPPEEE!!!!!!!! *jumps for joy* LOL

I must say, that will all my birds, I'm quite partial to cherry heads as well! Of course I'm partial to cockatiels, but mainly my own little special tiel! I started with budgies, in less than a year I had aquired a cockatiel, and a month after, had received my cherry head, Noel! I did later on get bourkes, too, and have kept a couple other species, but not ones that I'd probably get into again for the mere fact that I prefer larger birds...

Well, I think we need photos! Would love some! And I know a few would also love some lovie information on breeding and raising, too! I'm sure you'll love it here! Got any stories???

Well I have to admit that I am just getting into a couple lovebirds. My friend and her hubby raise many lovebirds so she is still trying to teach me lovebird genetics; now that can give one a headache, lol.

Annabanna, where in MN are you from? We live in Brainerd and grew up in a tiny town about an hour west of Brainerd.

I have tons of stories and lots of pic, really need to update my pic of Bobby, my cherry-head and include him with his girlfriend-Bonnie. He loves her and tells her all the time...

I too prefer a bit larger birds, our daughter has the lovebirds or so she says. She has always liked lovebirds so got a couple for her. I am still a fan of the conures as the noise level in my house would attest to. Someday, maybe a macaw. Our friends just got their 2nd and I cant wait to go see him. For now am perfectly happy with my mid-size birds and couple little ones.

I am from Brainerd! Well, actually I am from Pine River (30mi north), but my husband and I lived in Brainerd for a year before moving out here. He grew up in Brainerd. I did my post secondary/AA degree there during HS. I also lived in Duluth for a few years. We return to Brainerd 2-4 times a year (Christmas, etc.).

Welcome to the BirdBoard,

You have a nice diverse flock there, I have a IRN and a peach front conure myself. Your baby conures must be adorable...I always say mine looks like a shiny hummingbird he is quick, beautiful and has brilliant hues of colors in his green wings :)
