Smile Hello From Minnesota

Hi everyone,
My name is Asad. I recently adopted 2 Dove Ringneck Indian Parrots. The previous owner didn't care much for the birds. I was told they were a male and a female. I used to own a green Ringneck 16 years ago when I was 11. So I consider myself a newb. It's day 2 of ownership of the 2 parrots. They aren't friendly at all, especially the male. By the way, I haven't even named them yet. I came across the board and I read lots of good info. I hope that I'll be accepted as a freind here. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Welcome to the forum!

I'm a little confused though... do you have parrots or doves?

There ARE Ringneck Doves...
And there ARE Indian Ringnecks as well as various species of Ringnecks...

Do ya have pics? Ringneck parrots do tend to be more stubborn and standofish, especially if parent raised or not handled frequently... however, I know many a person who love their ringnecks no matter how they are!

Your other thread was posted in the Parrotlet Experts section and we aren't supposed to post there until the Expert has comented,so I came here.Your ringnecks are beautiful.Wanted to mention that some birds get frightened near windows, this could be contributing to thier skidishness.Let us know how they are settling in.

Welcome to BB! I look forward to hearing more about your new birds. It may take a bit of time and patience, but I am sure they will come around. As you can see from my signature photo, I also have a ringie ruling my house!

Welcome to BB, give your birds some time to get to know you and I'm sure ya'll will get along just fine.
I've only had my girls for about a month so I'd say I'm still fairly new myself. And They are the first birds I have ever owned.
Would love to see some pictures btw.
