Hello,

I figure I should probably introduce myself and say Hello. I have posted once already and just realized I didn't post on here. Shame on me I know. I have quite a few birds so I have my hands full. But I love them all and hope that once they get to know me better my birds will love me right back. I would post some pictures once I figure out how to get them posted. Anyways to about me and my birds hehe..

I live in Washington State and my name is Veronica, I have 6 finches, 2 love birds and 2 Cockatiels.

I haven't named yet all the finches but 2 have names I think the girls named the 2 zebra finches, Nacho and cheese. The other 4 I don't know what type they are and have yet to name them though my girls are working on the names

My love birds are from what I was told over 2 years old and we have decided to name them Search and Destroy as they pretty much fit their names one seeks and the other destroys whatever he finds. They are very loving to each other and love to add there 2 cents whenever there are more than 2 people in a room talking.

As for my cockatiels they are under a year old. Not sure when they hatched trying to get that from the friend who gave them to me. But they are very cute though they still have a lot to learn and have earn the name Prozac and Zoloft from there behavior as one minute they are calm as can be the next they are flapping their wings and being as loud as possible or one day they let you reach in and pet them. The next they try and bite. We are working on the no biting part.

We have been trying the Intensive Love method with the lovebirds and the cockatiels. Anyways I think I have ramble on enough. I hope to keep reading the great advice and lovely post from everyone. Have a good Day everyone!

Hello there,

Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome. I will try and post as often as I can. I have posted some pictures by the way. Oh and also I have and Update. The girls have named 2 more of the Finches. One is Zig and the other is Zag. So only 2 more need names now.. Yay.

Hi everyone, I'm kinda new but not really, shame on me for not coming here as much as I should. I'm a proud Momma of a Cockatiel, he's name is Alfalfa. He's the greatest, the only thing is now he is biting EVERYTHING from walls, curtains, wires and even wood. This just started maybe 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know how to stop this? Should I go to another subject for this. If not can someone email this answer its driving myself and my husband crazy and upset that he might just eat something and die on me. He's almost 2 yrs old in March.

For your avatar, you need to go to the top of this page, click on 'Quick Links', look down until you find 'Edit Avatar', and you should be able to fix an image as long as it's not too big.

As far as Alfalfa, you need to distract him with something else. Try getting him more toys, different toys, things he can play with. If he is chewing on something that he is not suppose to, firmly tell him 'No', then put him on his cage, or a playstand (if you have one) and make sure he has toys with him that are appropriate to play with.
