New Around Here

Hi everyone...I found this site the other night while looking for a new feather tether for my Green Wing Macaw Chief and was immediately interested. It's nice to find a place thats full of 'bird people' (and I'm sure we know who we are)! I have been owned by many budgies as a child. I currently have two budgies. I recently lost the 'love of my life,' my sun conure Habanero. He was definitely a pepper! Fortunately, my husband recognized that I could never live without birds again and we began our search for my 'rebound bird.' Although there is no bird that will take Habanero's place, my 6 month old GW has quickly filled that empty feeling. He's absolutely amazing already. I can't wait to get old with him. I hope to meet some fun 'bird people' like me on here!

Here's a few pics...
The first is of him getting his nightly weigh in (he's still being handfed every other night) and the second is of him getting scratches by his ears. You can see he's all fluffed up and loving it....

We were going to name him Phoenix, but it just didn't fit. Chief fit him way better. He is definitely a big baby. Loves to lay on his back in the crack of your arm and cuddle. He loves to nuzzle up in your neck.
