My beloved Gold Cap Conure
Hi
I posted the other day about Molly who was just diagnosed with malignant squamous cell carcinoma. I will talk with the vet tonight about how to proceed but I just wanted to post some pictures of her so you could see how beautiful she is. she means the world to me |

Let's hope this is curable. In people squamous cell carcinoma is not as feared as melanoma but I have no idea about parrots. Fingers crossed - she is really a little beauty.

Thanks everyone
for your well wishes. She is acting pretty normal. we live in portland now and it gets dark so early and she curls up in her little blankets (see picture) kind of early. i hope that's just because it's so dark out early. She doesn't make the head bobbing motions anymore when the growth would bother her and seems normal to me. I'm cherishing every day. she still needs to get anitbiotics every day and is kind of resigned to the fact. she hardly puts up a fight. Here's a few more pictures of her wrapped in towel and about to get meds. Love to kiss her little belly and feet in this position
Take care everyone and thanks for your support |

I wish you well with this illness you are dealing with. It's difficult to look forward when you are not sure what the future will be. This is a great place for understanding.
I just wanted to say that I tried to kiss Pumpkin's cute foot when he was in that position and he grabbed the underside of my nose with his other cute footie. I laugh now, for sure, but it brought tears to my eyes at the time.
