Just another newbie w/ MB Conure.
I adopted (prefer that word over bought) a Maroon Bellied Conure this past weekend. He's approx. 5 mos. old and I got him from Feather Farm in Napa, CA. Wifey named him Damien and he hasn't been DNA sexed yet. But for now, he's a boy to us.
Anyway, I'm a first-time bird-owner, but did do my research on conures before the purchase and surprised the wifey w/ an early x-mas gift. She loves our new pet, but wished I brought her there instead of surprising her when she got home from work. And I did buy a sturdy floor-standing cage w/ wheels and Feather Farm included things like: food, millet, toy and even trimmed the nails and feathers. Since it's winter, I already ordered a sm. heater panel that can be attached to the cage. As for other pets, I have a skimmer-less reef aquarium and (2) dogs (Shepherd/Husky & Husky). But since this is a bird forum, I won't talk much about them...LOL! Well, just introducing myself. Thanks for reading my first post! -Michael.

Hi and welcome!
Every parront has to start somewhere. You're starting with a great species, and on a great board. There are lots and lots of knowledgeable people here to help you learn and grow with your new fid. Welcome aboard and don't be afraid to ask questions, brag, and post lots and lots of pictures!

Wow, I got a couple of replies already. Thanks to you both! I almost left for lunch, too. Okay, I'll include a couple more. These are all I took over the weekend. If the pics are kinda blurry, it's because I turned the flash off and didn't wanna scare him. Plus, the comforter over the cage should keep him warm 'til the lil heater comes in. Also, glad to be here. Visited a couple of times and read a lot before joining this forum.
I appreciate the warm welcome. New "parronts"?? LOL...good one!
