hi Nazair
Thanks for posting the pics I enjoyed looking at them. I couldnt tell from the pic of the monkey is it a spider or a wooly monkey?? I havent seen any wooly monkies for years. it looks like its a good size thats what made wooly come to mind. You have some nice looking dogs. I checked out your web site and seems like you are really into them and going the right way about things. There are alot of people out there that just breed to breed. I wasnt one of those people either. My thing was to always try to produce the best. To better the breed. Also when buying from another breeder to buy the best. Ive been to many judging seminars so know what to look for and also have given judging seminars for AKC judges on Anatolian shepherds. also taught people to judge wolves and wolf hybrids. My ex wife and I also wrote the breed standard for wolves and hybrids that many of the clubs use. The only shows that I have actually judged were wolf /wolf hybrid shows. It can be a tough thing to do especially when you have aot of good animals there. I know politics sometimes have a lot to do with it and also whos at the end of the leash and Im not talking the dog!! Which I dont think is right! Most of it should be the merit of the dog and some on the handler not the other way around. But I relize too if the dog isnt handled right it will affect the dogs gait and performance. well hope to talk more with you at some point.
Thanks again for posting the pics Jeff |

The more you post the more you shock me. I am just eating this all up. I can’t wait to learn more about your birdie babies. Since I first saw them, I always thought that the ring necks were beautiful birds. I don't know much about the others that you have but I am sure that they are just as beautiful.
I hoped that you would have enjoyed those pictures being that you’re a nature type of guy yourself. I agree with you a lot in regards to your assessment of the show world, merit, and breeders. My mentor and I took a ride today and just got to talking. We discussed how "sometimes you have to be careful because some show breeders can be the worst ones" and how "it doesn't always take a special dog to be specialed and win". You know what I mean. She too is a judge but she judges small/toy breeds. I've been a fancier since 1998 and have been involved in my breed of choice and the sport much longer before that. Since that time I've only breed two litters. I was fortunate and blessed as to have my very first bred bys go on to finish fairly quickly. They continued to be specialed and today are highly sought after. That is rare and I am thankful every day that my hard work and dedication wasn't in vein. Some people wait litter after litter after litter to obtain such results. People often tell me when I should breed another litter which always seem to be much soon that I expect to. They advise me to whom they’d like me to breed to (often times it’s their stud) or they’ll just ask when I am going to breed another litter or do a repeat breeding. I usually just laugh... For me it's not that easy as I put so much into my dogs and litters. So, my answer tends to always be, "when I have the time, money, energy, and can make the effort". By no means is it easy trying to obtain the best... You know what I mean. Well, it's been nice getting to know you. I am looking forward to reading much more about your birds, interest, experiences, and accomplishments. BTW... I do not know exactly what type of monkey that is my vet has. It doesn't seem to be a spider monkey to me but I will ask my vet first thing in the morning, as I am sure that question will remain on my mind until I know the answer…

Hi Nazir
Hi
Yes I sure know what you mean about people to talk animals with most people think Im crazy too. Its hard to find someone thats really interested in them especially the exotics. As for me Id rather talk animals than just about anything else. Thats what im really into and all types I love em all and have experience with just about all kinds. I also used to sell beef for animal food so got to be freinds with a few zoo owners and would spend time at zoos at least once a week. I almost had to to help out with my feed bill as I was feeding 300 lbs of fresh beef per feeding for my own carnivors. I had alot of them. Used to also feed a natural diet to most of my dogs too. They seemed to do alot better on it than commercial feed. If your into that sort of thing there is a book out on it by Dr Pitcarn that is good. But it can be alot of extra work. But I felt it was well worth it as the animals ate better and got more nutrients out of it which also equals less waste comming out the other end if you get my drift. LOL I also know what you mean about the show breeders you have to watch cause they arent always the best dogs. Matter of fact I ve seen some terrible ones that were bred by show breeders. One of my best show winning dogs was bought from an ad out of the news paper from a guy that didnt breed that much and really didnt much know what he was doing. I paid $200 for him and turned out to be one of the top wining dogs the years we had him out my step daughter used to show him and did quite well with him and was always takeing breed group 1sts and in bis ring almost every show. She got a BIS with him when she was 12 years old. I think she was the only kid to get a BIS at a National show and almost got 2 that day (rare breed shows useually have 2 shows in 1 day) since there arent many of them. They useually have 4 shows per weekend 2 sat and 2 sun. Any how he was an American Pitbull terrier. We took 167 ribbions with 2 dogs in 4 weekends (8 shows). So think did pretty well. The most dogs I think Ive ever taken to a show at one time was 15 thats fun lol its more work than staying at home but I loved doing it. I also took Tweet my one cougar to a dog show once, she was just a baby around 6 weeks old but had to as she was still bottle feeding. She loved it and people at the show liked seeing her too. It also helped out with socialization for her. I took that cat everywhere with me even had her in my Drs office with me. she loved to go with me places and would sit on the seat of the truck just looking out the windows and was better in the truck than almost all of my dogs. Its great that you are doing well in the show ring with your dogs. I know what you mean about being hard work and its great its paying off for you. Dont let people try to tell you when to breed or breed to my dog. Make up your own mind and you know whats best to do your successful with it and people are seeing that. Anytime I had that happen ( you should breed to my dog red flags went up and I would stay far away from that person) If I wanted to breed outside my kennel I felt it was up to me to ask about stud not have it offered to me and that was something that rarely happened. As a matter of fact it only happened with people in my tight circle. Then most times it was trading pups with each other rather than studing out. Its great gettin to know you too! I love talking animals and you and I seem to have alot in common as to the animals. look forward to hearing more about you and your animals. Jeff |
