Welcome Josh:

Nice to meet you and hope you'll stick around as you prepare for your new arrival. I hope you do lots of research before you acquire your new bird. Please make sure your wife is part of the process and that SHE gets to pick out the bird. Birds need to agree to their new homes. They are nothing like dogs and cats. You may be surprised which bird you wind up with.

Welcome Josh! Any friend of Lisa's is a friend of ours! Yes, like Nancy said, birds don't make good surprise gifts. Best to let your wife be there so a bird can choose her, you know how picky these "bosses" are!

Welcome to Birdboard- we're glad to have you here! I've heard lots of stories of people who go out with the intention of getting one certain bird, and come back with a different species altogether! Good luck!

Welcome! I'm pretty new here, too. You'll find lots of good advice, here--and lots of bird-loving, experienced, plain-speaking people worth listening to when they give it. I think you'll like it!

Welcome Josh!! nice to see ya around....
jimpierce7 was one of the people that posted some info I sent to you.

Backround on Josh's wife. She has had Greys before, while growing up. So she is familar with the species. She is going to school to become a teacher, and some little lucky bird might be going to teach school with her, if the school system allows it.

I suggested that Josh learn about Timneh vs congos for this reason. I hope ya'll will help him out with some info....

Again, welcome Josh.....
