I'm new!

Hello!

I was looking around the web for bird sites and stumbled upon this one:) Looks like a great community.

I'm Jenn. I have two birds, two dogs and two kids! I have had my Jesse(male cockatiel) for 14 years. I got him as an unweaned baby. I finished handfeeding him when I was 13. He's my grumpy old man now

4 days ago I adopted a 9 month old African Grey. I have wanted a big parrot for as long as I can remember. The first parrot I was ever around was a double yellow head Amazon named Jordee. He was my Great Grandmother's bird. I thought he was the best thing. He spoke with a Scottish Brough, and always said the funniest things at the right times. My mom has owned a Goffin Cockatoo for 17 years. He's a bit nuts but we love him anyway.

I'm excited to learn from this site as I bond with my Grey. We have named him Roscoe. He seems to be adjusting well!

Welcome and I am sure you will enjoy your Grey. I would someday like to add a Grey to the flock here.

Welcome to the forum! WOW! I'm not sure what is a harder situation to deal with.... a 13 year old handraising a bird, or a 13 year old being given a biting, screaming, mutilating bird! (I was 13 when I got Noel! boy have things changed!).

It's great to hear that birds have stuck in the family!

Thanks!

Monica~ I think you had it worse! Jesse had at least moved onto a spoon by the time I got him so it wasn't that bad.
