Hello from Maryland!

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a bit and figured it was time to join up and introduce myself. My name is Julie and I live just south of Baltimore, Maryland. I am owned by two extremely charming and stubborn budgies, Richard and Hyacinth. Despite the name, I am fairly certain Richard is a hen but the name stuck so she's Richard now! About a month ago I adopted them from a neighbor who could no longer care for them. They're older, and not exactly hand tame, but I am completely in love with them both. Hopefully, I'll have pics sometime in the near future. I have learned a lot poking around the board. Thanks for all the great info!

Well, she is quite colorful! :) Actually, Richard and Hyacinth are the names of two characters on a British comedy called Keeping Up Appearances. They are a married couple. On the show, Richard is constantly bossed around by Hyacinth. The original owners of the budgies picked the name as Hy is definitely a bossy little thing! Thanks for the heads up on the sexing thread. I will definitely be checking that one out!

Hello! I am also from this area. We have a bird club you might be interested in... www.thebirdheard.com Great place to meet other people locally if you are looking for a group! We are hosting Dr. Ritchie in September for AHN's quilt drawing.

Welcome!

Hi there and a warm welcome from me too. I love the fact that you named your birds after the ... Buckets, lol. Both Katrin (the wife and boss) and I love that show to death and probably have seen every episode at least five times.
Every saturday on PBS is Brit night and they show lots of older shows that are just the best ever.
Hope to see lots of pictures of your birds.
