Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone! Just thought we would pop in to introduce ourselves. We have a snuggly, charming Scarlet Macaw named Captain Jack Sparrow. He is our little pirate bird! He was hatched on July 18, 2005 and we have had him for about 3 weeks...We just love him to death! It has been quite an adjustment for our two little yorkie pups Lola and Sophie, especially when Jack calls Lola's name! But I am sure soon enough they will be friends. ( Well supervised, friends of course!)

If you remember Little Boy the Moluccan, btw, he got himself a home on Sunday. Now every-big-bird 'cept Bizbee and Lady the Military has a home to call their own :-).

Ooops! Forgot--Welcome to Birdboard! You're gonna love it here :-). Tell your Clothed-Ones to show us the pix! Especially your handmade playstand with the alligator in it.... lol!

Hi How are you? I am glad to hear the big birds are finding homes! Is it your home that they are finding their way to? lol. We may bring Jack by the Hut this weekend to play. Otherwise his next vet appt. is on March 15th. I don't know if I told you, but we found out that lil stub Jack had a kidney infection on his first exam. So we have been giving him his antibiotics twice daily and boy is he a changed bird! Still very quiet except when spoken too, but he plays very rough with his toys and eats like a horse now! Also, sad but true his little stub toe is swollen, so we have to keep on eye on that too. Pam said we should consider not clipping his wings since he is very unstable and loses balance frequently. How are all your birds doing?

p.s. I haven't heard him say Bob for a while. I try to get him to say it, but he is stuck on saying Lola! (Our dogs name)

Heyas, Cap'n--Nope, Little Boy didn't go home with me, but I was there when he was sold, and he went home with as much good stuff as you got for Jack--plus they have a double macaw cage for him. Miss Cleo came home to me, though, and now goes by the name "Gracie" :-).

Poor Jack and his toe--if it's not one thing it's another. He got his, though--his hatchmate's toe was also damaged by Jack. I hope the swelling goes down soon, and that the antibiotics work on his kidney infection. You watch--now that he's feeling better, he'll become a "normal" Scarlet macaw in no time, and you'll be having to watch out for YOUR fingers and toes :-). Have fun with him, and hope to see you Sunday (although we'll be at an exotic animal fair then, too--you should go, get Jack some toys...). Saturday we'll be on the mountain.

p.s.--I'm still trying to get Bob to say "Bob's yer uncle!" and "Arrrrgh, Matey, it's drivin' me nuts!", but about all he manages is the "arrrgh"! LOL!

Bob your Uncle!! HAHAHA!! The Exotic Pet Fair? Could you tell me where it is at? We would love to go to the fair. That sounds very fun! Pam said that Jack should be normal in 5 days and it has been over 5 days! And he still is very snuggly and quiet. I hope nothing else is wrong!

How is Gracie? Is she settling down? I hope she doesn't bite anyone in your house! I'm sure though with some boundaries she will be a nice birdy.
