Help with my GCC and quaker

Hi everyone, I'm new here and had a couple questions. First is about my greencheek conure. He doesn't sleep in his happy hut, he sleeps upside down on top of it! Is this normal? Most of the time he has one one foot securely fastened to the cage but sometimes he is balancing on it laying on his back without holding on to anything. Has anybody else had a bird do this? My second question is how to introduce two birds to each other. I've had my greencheek for almost two years now and I thought I would get a friend for him. I was suggested not to get another greencheek because they might bond to closely to each other. I got a quaker instead. My greencheek is the sweetest bird alive and I didn't even think he knew how to bite. However when I brought my baby quaker home he went nuts and tried to attack him. I have them in seperate rooms now. I am heartbroken because I really wanted him to have a companion. I've only had the quaker for a week now but love him to death as well. Any suggestions on how to introduce them to each other?

Some birds have some strange sleeping habits! How your GCC sleeps sounds pretty "normal" to me!

Your conure and quaker may never get along, and as your conure sees it, the quaker is invading his territory and home. You might try having the cages in the same room but at opposite ends, and in a week or two slowly moving them closer together (i.e. only a foot max). Also, only allow one out at a time to reduce any problems.

All the while be sure to talk to both of them, tell them about the other bird, and that they are supposed to be nice to eachother and be play buddies. Over time they may get along... or they might not and you'll have to live with getting them out at separate times for interaction and playing.
