Spoiled MCockatoo

My husband & I live in a motorhome with a very spoiled cockatoo. He's mama's boy and will go to dad for a scritch, but mostly wants mom. His cage was put in and the couch was discarded when we first got the motorhome. I've been owned by "Tickle Too" since 1990. He has both of us wrapped around his toes and loving it. He's curious about everything we do and hates closed doors or curtains. He is out of his cage anytime we're home & inside. He likes to oversee any cooking or baking and get handouts on his cage of the fresh veggies, fruits or nuts. Since the hurricanes a few years ago, we can no longer open a can of cashews without him gluing himself to us begging worse than any dog! He expects some of everything. We get salt-free pretzels and try to keep to healthier treats. My husband can't even bring in a bag of peanuts in the shell with a stampede. He's funny, loving and at times mouthy when he feels we haven't gotten him out fast enough. He tells us off in "Too-eze" complete with inflections so loudly we're almost sure the campground can hear him. I can imagine what they're thinking!

Hi and welcome to BB. You know you're a real bird person when you get rid of your couch and replace it with a cage! I can't say I've ever met a cockatoo that wasn't spoiled! Is yours a Moluccan?

Birds over furniture

Addict well I'm not sure I've only two birds for now, Cuca is the Umbrella cockatoo and Peekaboo is our white faced cockatiel. The only furniture we've gotten rid of was the last couch & love seat that had become their chew toys! Only to find out the new couch and love seat are the new chew toys?!?! The trim on the new stuff just seems to be so very entertaining to Cuca and the little peekaboo follows behind and wants to do everything Cuca does, afterall he's a big bird too...
