First welcome to the BirdBoard!!

Secondly, welcome to the wonders of "bird" ownership :)

Your baby Kilo is very cute and I can't wait to hear more about your little fellow.

The breeder told me to "visit as often as I like," but I don't want to put them out. About how much should I visit my new baby? I would love to go..every day!...but I wanted to know what would be polite and sufficient.

I would think that with your enthusiasm, the breeder would let you know if you are visiting too often. Plus the more you interact with the bird will make the transition from their old home to yours easier since Kilo will already be familiar with you.
Just ask the breeder if you were to visit every day for a little while to help with things would be okay. I'm sure they will let you know if it's too often.

Kilo is so sweet. CONGRATULTIONS to you! Its very exciting waiting for your baby to come home. Take this opportunity to bond with him as much as you can before he comes home, it will pay off in the long run!
I don't think every day is too much, after all he is coming home to be with you everyday!!!

We went back to see him today, and boy has he grown! You are right about me being "bitten." I almost cried when I realized he wasn't going home with me. I know he is in good hands with the breeders, but I feel like I am leaving my baby alone or something. He is the cutest thing! He started eating corn out of my hand and always runs up to me to home him. I sure hope he stays this sweet! I am not sure about the name. I really love the name Kilo..and I can't think of anything that suits him better...but everytime I tell someone they refer to a measurement of drugs! LoL So..I don't know if I will want to spend the next 30 years of my life explaining his name is a male adaptation of "Kila.." but who knows! I am just so happy!

Another poi! YAY!!! Poi's are just the sweetest little treasures, and by the looks of it, Kilo is no exception! Be sure to update and post lots of pictures.

Around here, there's never too much of a good thing

Congrats!

Well, if not Kilo, why not Kito??? "Kila" reminded me of one of our pets named 'Kita' so why not go with "Kito", hardly a difference other than sound! Sure is a cutie though!
