Welcome to the BirdBoard :)
Glad to see you found this board, lots of great info here. I recently adopted a 3 yr old Pionus (a Maxie) and while I have 3 other parrots, this parrot is the biggest of my bunch. I think they would be a good bird to start with really, fairly even tempered and the beak ain't too BIG. LOL Good luck with your quest to find the fid that fits in best :)

thanks spinner! Maxis are pretty birds I know what you mean about the beak thing! My grandmothers best friend owned 2 macaws, beautiful birds but very testy. They liked to taste test people with their beaks, which were huge! I was looking for rescue pionus parrots but I found two one of which was aggressive towards women! so I guess that wouldnt have been to good lol! Thanks for the welcome!
