Hey Brenda! Welcome to BB! Why not come in, take a perch, tell us some stories, maybe share some photos, and tell us a bit more about your birds???

Wink Hi & Welcome!

How can you leave us hanging with the allure of 11 birds .........

So tell us what they are, ages, how they came to be with you & their names - unless they're all fiches you might have some problems with names, but maybe not

Stories & photos are really valued here.

Chico and Sydney = cockatiels
Oli and Ivy = quakers
Peachy, Quincy, and Jack = lovebirds
Gizmo = senegal
Baby = sun conure
and 2 unnamed budgies.

Chico is around 12 years old he came as a rescue of sorts. My friend's Mother's husband passed away and the Mother was going to move out of state and she couldn't/didn't want to take Chico along so I took him. His cage reeked of filth and his water AND FOOD dishes reeked of raw sewer. Once home I tried to clean his cage but ended up buying a new one along with new dishes to eat and drink from. The following day I uncovered him and he was still silent so I sorta poked around in his cage like checking food water and whatnot and discovered blood. So wrapped him in a towel and discovered with a full body check he had a cut. It looked old but he would pick and pick at it so I spent over a hour calling vets hunting for a avian. When the vet checked him the cut was so deep it was to the bone on his left leg and his little body was full of infection so he was sent home cleaned up and was to return for stitches. Ended up I did something right because he did not require stitches on his return visit. He's lived here now for 3 years.

I bought Sydney to be a friend to Chico, that did not work out Sydney is mean to Chico so they are seperated. The 2 budgies share a home with Chico and he couldn't be a happier guy.

Oli is around a year old and Ivy is around 8 months old both I bought. They talk but Ivy talks alot more than Oli does. Oli is a female and Ivy is a male.

Peachy I brought home from Animal Control, he is the noisey butt, Quincy I bought from same place that the quakers came from. Quincy is a female. Jack is a little girl she has only 1 eye that's where she got her name of Jack. PeaCHY AND jACK ARE IN LOVE WITH ONE ANOTHER BUT BEING pEACHY IS SO MUCH BIGGER THEY DO NOT LINE UP SO NO EGGS.

Gizmo came from my best friend. She is a female around 5 to 6 years old and my little feather ball of joy I adore all my birds but Gizmo is so special.

And this brings us to Baby. Baby is a male. My husband couldn't stop talking about how much he wanted a sun conure so for our annaversary last year I brought him Baby. Baby likes me and will come with me room to room but boy when my hubby gets here i no longer exsist.

Welcome to Birdboard, Brenda :-). We know what "busy" means around here, too! My sun conure, Petey McSweet, only likes my daughter and I. He's mean to everyone else. I hope you enjoy it here.

Talking

Wow - a whole bunch of lively terrier birds! Don't mind me, I'm into terriers really. Do they hang out in one place or are they in different areas? How do they socialize?

The story about Chico is terrible - I guess he was a very negative part of that woman's life - the things we do as an 'intelligent' species

So glad you made him happy. We await the pics

I found out to that when Chico made any type of sound she would bang and shake his cage and yell shut up at him.

Chico is in my den with the 2 no-name budgies, Oli Ivy, and Baby are in my dinningroom they play together but Ivy is a bully. The lovies are in the dinningroom as well they seldom get out of the cage because the quakers would kill them so on certain days like Wednesday and Friday the lovies are out and quakers are not until afternoon and it is switched. Gizmo is out almost all the time except for 3 hours from noon to 3 (same goes for all my fids) that is quiet time they go to cages during those hours and nap (unless someone visits then they all scream at the bad intruder lol) then they all get out again at 3 until around 7 and it's bedtime.

Guess you all know I do not work lol.
