I've LOVED getting to know the newbies, and I'm SO GLAD that y'all are here!....but now it seems that we know the newbies better than the newbies know us older members. I know we've done stuff like this before, but now's a GREAT time to do it all again!
I'd like everyone (older members and newbies) to list ten well-known and little things about themselves and what birds you have....

1-I was born and raised, and now live in Pensacola, FL
2-My favorite city in the world is New Orleans
3-I own a 1965 Pontiac GTO that I show.
4-I grew up rebuilding and drag racing muscle cars
5-I grew up in a very tight-knit Catholic family (though I only have one sibling)
6-I'm 21 and I'm a Leo
7-My major is in Business Management, my minor is in Anthropology, and I'm still in school.
8-My favorite color is Red
9-I've worked in the EMS-911 field since I was 13, after growing up a Paramedics daughter, I couldn't EVER imagine doing anything else!
10-My fildren (bird children) are my life and I wouldn't trade them for the world!

My fildren:
Cayo-1yr 3mo. old Quaker; he's king of the house and definately the man in charge!
Dewey-1y/o Peach front conure; he's my little instigator, any fight that starts out, or any competitive screaming or wing flapping, I can almost gurantee he's at the center of it, and probably started it!
Bebee- 9mos. old Blue mutation IRN; he's beautiful, spoiled, and IMPOSSIBLE to handle or play with. He makes the prettiest sounds and can even wolf-whistle, but he'll attack if you come withing 2ft of his cage!
Oscar-22y/o Mealy Amazon; he's the newest edition to my flock; adopted in September from Parrot Jungle in Miami. He's most definately the most docile and quietest of my flock. He cuddles well, likes to do art projects, and LOVES penuts!

1. I am not good at this kind of thing, but really like to read others responses.
2. I am 42, married 22 years, 2 girls, Sharon 22 and Theresa 18...
3. Birds are taking over my life
4. I have worked for the same company for 12 years. Doing customer service..we make Vinyl Records ( which I think is pretty cool)
5. I did not go to college, though my mother REALLY wanted me to. I gave it a shot, it just wasn't for me...still isn't. But my daughter will be graduating from Chico State University this coming May and my mother is very proud..lol ( me too, I wish I was as self motivated as my daughter)
6. I love to read in my spare time.
7. My grandmother taught me how to play canasta when I was a child and I still love to play today, I play on Yahoo whenver I can....it's been awhile, now that we have the flock to take care of...not too many "extra" hours..
8.I hate flying on airplanes, I won't, not go, but I HATE it.
9. I am very happy where my life is today, and do not regret many choices made along the way.
10. I did not want birds!! My husband talked me into it, and now I am obssesed and totally owned by my flock.

My Flock.
First there is Emma. She is a Shih Tzu. She just turned 2 years old. I got her for my birthday, when she was just 10 weeks old. We had not had any pets except for fish and she has been such a joy. I love her dearly. She has also ( after a short adjustment period) been very accepting of all the new family members.
1. Bobbi ( BOB ) Senegal Parrot. Such a sweetheart DNA female. Born 05/02/04 we brought her home in August. Once we had this sweetheart we new we wanted more.
2. Casper: Bare Eyed Cockatoo: Words cannot express!! He holds my heart and frustrates me with his screaming...could'nt live with out him. He is such a clown.
3.Conor: the Dusky Conure: so sweet but quite the screecher...if you leave the room he won't be quiet until you come back.
4.KOA: Senegal Parrot DNA male: 6 years old. We bought him from a growing family that didn't have time for him. He is talker, it's so sweet in this little tiny voice he says: Hi baby and pretty bird and makes all kinds of whistles and noises ( but he is a little bitey...Im hoping that will get better)
5. Nick: Senegal Parrot DNA male, mate to Bobbi. He is so sweet still baby like but starting to talk, he and bobbie had some issues at first but seem to be just fine and play so well together.
6. BABY: Blue and Gold Macaw. Born 07/18/04 DNA'd female, came home Nov. 24th. So amazing, so sweet, so loving so full of mischief!!!!!
There is some talk (from my husband) of another fid in the near future...we will see. lol

FUN...

1. Right now I am working away at my big research paper for the semester which means I am a student. My major is advertising. Someday I hope to live in a big(ger) city and have a kick butt job as an advertising exec. or something.
2. I am 23 and a girlie girl, although I am by no means high maintenance. I do love pointy shoes, I have to admit!
3. My heart belongs to the African AIDs pandemic. Although I do want a career in advertising, I always hope to be involved in this in some way. You all would make me really, really happy if you signed this: http://www.theonecampaign.org/ Thanks! :D
4. I love music and art and movies. I am always looking for something new to listen to or someone to go see live with my girlfriends. I love photography and would love to fill my house with pictures from around the world someday.
5. I have lived in three different apartments in the past year. Moving is a pain!!!
6. I am trying, everyday, to be a more tolerant individual. I was taught that the world is black and white and that intolerance is somehow love. Strange, I know.
7. I love nature!!!! Forests, and mountains, and the ocean! I love exploring! But I also love the city and tall buildings, the subway, bridges...
8. I feel at home in a crowd and think it is exciting to go to the movies when it is packed!
9. I have one younger sister who is the exact opposite of me. She is 21 and a crazy girl (I'm just a little bit crazy). We are the best of friends though!
10. I have one parrotlet and her name is Tiki. I have been hanging around here since I got her last May. She is a little green ball of cuteness and I love her to peices!

Oh wow... mine were lame last year LOL....

Here's my new list; some taken from last times

1) I am an original of Birdboard. I decided to check over the site after Keev wouldn't stop emailing me LOL.... I am now a proud member as well with one of the youngest birdboarders.

2) I am in Grade 10, 15 years old... and a 80%+ student. I'm very academic and despise :x slackers :x

3)I am allergic to interestings things; Sunscreens, cats, soaps, dust mites, and :shock: bloodworms :shock:

4) When I was 3, my right hand was run over by my ex-neighbours car... it then got infected and I got some foot and mouth disease .

5) I am a perfectionist. I hate being unorganized, and redo school notes if there slightly slurred...

6) I am DISGUSTED by crumbs(You could call it a phobia)... I can not look at crumbs and even the word makes me wanna gag.Hense I also think crackers are disgusting as well with anything crust like......*cringe*

7) I am aracnophobic and get my sister to get the spiders out of my bedroom, and bathroom

8 ) In Grade 8, I accidentally overdosed on prescription medicine. It was awful and I had severe reactions LOL

9) Most of my friends are female. I am not interested in general guy things like; booze, cars, guns, etc.

10) I have a rare hand disease, where when I get cold my muscles stiffen(specifically fingers) :?

Ok, we're going to give this a try. I'm really not good with talking about myself.

1. I'm 31 years old, from Pottstown, Pa. (which is in SE PA).

2. I am store manager at Sam Goody (that's a music store for those that don't know). I've been there for almost 11 years (March will be 11 yrs.)

3. I love all types of animals WAY too much. In October, I purchased a year pass to the Philadelphia Zoo, this way I can go whenever I want and not have to worry about paying. They have some cool Hyacinth Macaws there (that's my 2nd favorite bird). Unfortunately, when we went to visit them in October, a couple of them had plucked most of their feathers.

4. Right now I live with my partner (of almost 2 years) and our cat Leo (she's the queen) and our dog Niko (she would like to think she's the queen). I'm planning on adding a TAG (Timneh Grey) to our family early next year. I've been owned by several other birds in my life (parakeets, cockatiels, blue crowned conures, a goffin's cockatoo, and a CAG).

5. My partner and I plan on having an alpaca farm in the future. We need to save money and he need to finish his schooling (he's going to start grad school next year). Those of you that don't know much about alpacas should check them out. They are the coolest animals (next to birds). They are closely related to Llamas, but much cuter. 6. I love music (good thing I work at Sam Goody). My all time favorite musician is Prince (which is where the npgsoul comes from - New Power Generation for thoses that don't know). He is a true musical genius, and has actual talent, unlike a lot of the musicians out today. But I do get in to all types of music.

Hey NPG Soul, I am addicted to the Amazing Race too! We are only in Season 5 here in Australia, I can see by the website you are already in Season 6! I also like Survivor, The Apprentice-any reality show where the contestants have to employ intelligence and strategy.

I have also dreamed of going on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire-actually got one callback a few months ago and messed up on the sports and politics questions-my two weak categories.

I have already posted in the 10 Things thread-you guys know so much about me already if I told you more, I'd haveta kill ya!

Oooooh this is tough.

1. I'm 29 and I was born in Puerto Rico, raised in Virginia and moved several (5ish) years ago to North Carolina, which was like moving to the Twilight Zone for me. Its amazing how only 1 hours makes such a huge difference!

2. I've been with my first sweetheart, my hubby now, since 9th grade. This March we'll have been together for 13 years but only married for 4 years. We only got married though to get everyone off our backs, to us we already were married.

3. Love NC but could do without the people. I've turned harder and more in tune with myself since moving here, have also noticed in me a lack of tolerance and a closing off in myself thats sad and frightening.

4. Dream of joining the peace corps and traveling the world and leaving all my material belongings behind....

5. Was attacked by a pitbull once when I was jogging, it was such a scary experience that I bought a treadmill

6. I am NOT a kid person and only love my own. Don't get me werong, I adore when children have manners and are well behaved but i've noticed that thats becoming rare. I volunteer at my kids school often to keep involved with whats going on with them but I dislike having to interact with the kids in their class. Just don't have the patience for other people's kids especially when so many seem to not have any manners....

7. Worked in a go-go bar for 4ish years, was very social there, was like acting.

8. I am agnostic. Big NO NO in NC :shock:

9. I'm very opinionated, shy and lack tact = not a lot of friends

10. Have a thing for green and cartoon frogs and turtles and stuff.

My extended furred and feathered family:

Sheba - She's been here the longest, about 8 years. She's a black and white mutt someone dropped off at our house when she was just a baby.

Jezabel - was next. She's a Cag. She came home in April 2002.

Ginger - Maximillian Pionus came from a family that didn't have time for her anymore after having a new baby, at least thats what they claim, I tend to believe her extreme mood swings attributed to their decision to rehome her, ah well their loss was my gain

Tiki - My U2 came next. Tiki is without a doubt my favorite. Theres nothing I don't love about her and after her I knew that my last would be another cockatoo.

Lily - Golden retriever she's a beautiful but extremely timid and shy girl. Very sweet natured, i've never met a dog sweeter then her.

Rosie - Longhaired teacup chihuahua. Feisty adorable little girl that people adore even though she is viciously barking and attempting to bite them. She is afraid of nothing and bullies Lily relentlessly.

Bliss - My last birdy. She's an M2 and she's so comical and outgoing and friendly and is such a sweety.

Tucker - Black and white cat we found in our back yard. Didn't want him, didn't need him but here he stays and we love him. He and Rosie are the bestest buds ever. They sleep together, they play together constantly and i'm so glad we found him and let him stay. He's the friendliest cat i've ever known, so friendly in fact he changed my opinion of cats.

I may not be new, but in fact slightly 'old'... :) I have a tendency to show_up & disappear..How smurfy of me huh? Anyways, I DO check in now & then ....and LOVE reading the posts, learning & keeping in touch!! Feeling a wee bit guilty for hiding under the smurfy mushrooms I finally decided to try & post some photos...eventually I will finish grouping them & believe it or not~ YOU all will know a 'smurf' (they are rare ya know!?) Anyways, trust me...it is true that pictures speak thousands of words!!! I felt posting this much would at least show that I do have a polite side & in time we will get to know each other! Sharing & caring manages to bring the best out of all of us...
