Hey K.

Welcome to BB.... an umbrella cockatoo, hmm? Wow, i'd love to have one of those but I guess I'd be pushing my luck with my BF. But Valo (GGC) keeps me busy enough!

Cheers,
Bee

Welcome to the board and congratulations on your new cockatoo! Another cockatoo owner - yea!!!!!!!!!
I am owned by 5 cockatoos, 2 of them umbrellas. They are both a bit needy but are such lovebugs that you can't help but cuddle with them. And they have the best smell of all the parrots.........

Hi,

Wow, thanks for all the responses!!!! Triton is setteling in nicely. I wonder why dosen't he raise his crest that much? He dosen't really know how to step-up unless he's on the floor!! LOL. I wonder if it has anything to do with his feet??? His front two toes are fine on each foot, but the back ones are all messed up!! On the right back two one the toe is like twisted so the nail is pointing backwards, and the other the toe is normal but the nail is growing toward the bottom of the toe(its like touching)!!!! Then on the left foot one toes is normal just missing the nail, and the other one is like half as long as it should be and missing a nail!!! Sooooooooo all in all he has six nails total and a couple stumpy toes!!! But he is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a sweety, can you believe he HAS NEVER bitten ANYONE......... EVER!!!!!!!

Another thing is he isn't DNA sexed but the previous owner said he shows all the signs of a male................... But I noticed his eyes are a brownish/red color....Dosen't that mean he could be a she?????

Sorry it's soooo long!!!

Thanks, K

I'm not sure about all the other too's but they say that if their eyes tend to be more of a reddish brown the chances are higher that they are a girl. Not a for sure though.
