Conure and Macaw Mom is right... Amanda, what you are doing wrong is trying to post an image from your computer. Although you may be able to see the image, we cannot. You need to upload the image into the BB Album, into a post, or even to a free image hosting site that allows direct linking (such as Photobucket or otherwise). The image should be small so it doesn't take up too much space.

If you need any help, you can view the topics within my signature!

I think Amanda's story was very interesting & may be of help to Tammy regarding looking for a 'rescue'. My husband & I wanted a rescue bird & got one by looking at the local 'pet' ads in our area, on the internet.
Adpost or petfinder or craigs list can help you, among others.
Also look & call all the Humane Societies - I got Laker form a small town animal shelter [but the ad was hosted on Petfinder i think].
Bird Clubs often have a classified section too. A friend of mine got her Sennie by joining a Bird Club & a member was looking to rehome one of his birds. Another idea would be to contact local Avian & Non-avian Vets & see if they know of anyone looking to re-home their family pet.
Be careful of all the ads & local paper ads - as some people get birds only to resell them - I think they're worse than anyone but I could be wrong.
Not that it's the fids fault - so the bird is still worth rescuing....

We unfortunately have many Rescues in our area - you may have too - the Humane Society or the internet should get you to one with some research.

Cheeto is beautiful. Lovely photo.

How is he mean?
Lake can be bossy - biting at me when I put millet or seed in his cage - kind of a reprimand that 'it is about time' kind of attitude. I started saying 'excuse me' + when my hand is in the cage & I blow on him & say no if he tries to bite. He still gets angry but the biting is a lot less & not aggressive, more cheeky.

He bites when he wants to do what he wants, when he's out of the cage. But I have not let him get away with this. I persist. When he's on his mobile perch I bring it up to eye level & talk to him - he loves it. I want him to have certain freedom of will, but getting back into the cage when he has to be, is not negotiable. The more opportunities he has to be out during the day + moving his cage around the apartment, has paid off. Just recently he has gotten the picture & will go back in his cage, knowing that he is to be moved to another location - not a bad pay-off.

I see that you have a nice mirror perch in his cage. I would get rid of it. My reason is that any mirror gets Laker very aggressive. He postures, bangs on it, raises his crest & beard/bib & pins his eyes. That type of aggression lead to him becoming hormonal. A hormonal bird is a 'crazy' bird.

Regarding uploading photos
Check out Monica's threads as she has coached many people here.
~ Or go back to the Album feature on the blue bar above. It pretty much guides you through it. YOu pick a category, browse through your photos on your computer, give it a title & press save/upload. Copy the IMG info posted below the picture & paste to the reply box (if the pic has a high resolution the photo may be huge - there are a few ways to get around this but the following is easiest.)
~ The lovely photo of Cheeto was an attachment - look below the Reply box & you'll see Added Options - Manage attachments has an upload feature - be patient as the uploads can take a few minutes - X out & you'll see the uploads listed & they'll appear below your post.

Hope this helps in case you don't hook up with Monica.

Sorry about the length of this reply - typical of me ....

Cheeto will bite on you when you put your finger out for him to get on it. he has no trouble getting on the finger but once he is on there he bite the finger and pecks at it kind of hard.
