Well, we really did want a male & a female. I just looked at the birds & the color is not as blue as the picture. The yellow birds cere is actually quite pink and the blue & white birdie's cere at the top of it looks a little blue but it's pink the rest of the way down. In the pic it does look quite blue, but it's not like that in person. Still don't know what to call them. My daughter wanted to name the blue & white one Tarheel (for UNC of course)!! But we haven't decided yet.

My son wants me to re-name Laker to Proqualters! I'm resisting.
Good luck with the names.

My daughter Erin who is 12 just named the blue & white parakeet Skylar! She said the blue's and the white on it reminded her of the sky! So, Skylar it is! Now, I can't not for the life of me think of a name for the yellow & green one! By looking at the pics I posted do any of you have any ideas? Why is this so hard and how do you guys come up with such unique names for your birds (compliment there!)? The yellow & green parakeet is not as friendly and easy going as Skylar is. They both will already let you hold them on your finger, but the yellow one is so much more frightened than Skylar, just more timid all the way around. Any suggestions?

Dimples - Precious - Swirl - Sunny - Lemon [ my son's fav name for a budgie - has to do with their size & shape I think!] - Mango - Autumn - Buttercup - Dandi[lion] - I have a yellow paint called 'Primrose' that is a yellow w/ a green cast.
Yellow brought up these names on this name finder site-

My favs were Saffron & Ivy.

I like to stay away from People names as I've run into problems in the past.
I like Skylar - very appropriate.

I, on the other hand, like people names for my animals

I like Skylar for the blue budgie, very fitting.

I don't have any name suggestions, but here's the names of all my birds (cept for two!)

Noel - cherry head - she's red and green, so her previous owner thought it very fitting! needless to say, I got her 3 days before Christmas, and never changed her name!

Casey - cockatiel - that's what her breeder called her, and it suits her well!

Pistachio; Kiwi; Kirby - cockatiel family, came with their names so I have no clue why they were named that

Sunshine - part of the cockatiel family, she's a pearl so she's got a lot of yellow on her - my only guess!

Tomi Girl - cockatiel, was originally named Tom as she was assumed male... eggs said differently! She's a really buff chick, so it suits her!

Smurf - blue budgie, kids probably named him from previous home...

Georgia; Sophia - violet light green, and a violet sky blue budgies??? they were originally from Las Vegas, so I wan't something that sounded 'showey', if that makes any sense!

Charlie - mitred conure, think his first owner named him that?
