my name is donna, i have 6 large birds ( 2 greenwing macaws, 1 blue and gold macaw, 1 harlequin macaw, 2 umbrella cockatoos.) then we have 5 lovebirds.
my husband and i started a private bird rescue here in keizer, OR. as you can tell we love birds.im a stay at home mom that has devoted herself to my little friends..it so nice to see a bird group that we are able to share and find information from other feather friends....thank you

You have a wonderful family of birds, and most of them are LARGE! :) That has to be a challenge. Are these birds that you have rescued?
It takes a special person to take in rescue birds.

one of our greenwings was adopted from the oregon humane society, they had rescued 120 birds from someones home and this bird was and still is a feather picker.because she was not perfect feathering, we thought no one would adopt her...she's a wonderful bird, just wasnt taken care of....so we gave her a forever home.with or with out feathers..our harlequin is another said story, we adopted this bird from another rescue where the original owner had blackened out the windows in his apartment for 2.5 years.he didnt see day light..he is such a great bird.....and agin we offered it a forever home.our other birds.we have purchased some of them as baby's others like these 2 stories we felt sorry for them.we only wish our birds the best.sometimes people dont understand what happens to the big birds when they are not wanted any more...well i will work on photos to share with every one.....sorry for being so long winded....donna

well as soon as i can figure out how to post some pictures, i can show you some of my birds.they are great guys and gals....its so nice to have a group like this.i always need information and i like to get it from people that have birds.im learning every day about each and every bird i have or take in.....im never to old or shy to ask....i love to hear bird stories and people experience with there friends.so if anyone has any i would love to hear them........so will work on the pictuer thing and will try to post them when it works.donna

Donna, your pics are not showing up. The way to post a pic is to actually copy the image tag into the message. The image tag (from wherever your pic is located on the web) will start out like this...

[IMG]http:// etc etc file name etc etc

Or just click the "insert image" button on the message post window and stick the file locaion between the image tags.

You can practice this with the HTML buttons as well. If I select the name, " Donna " and click the "change color" HTML button, it will put the proper HTML tags around that name. What you see is the final result here, but when you do it in the post message window, you will see the tags. The file location of the pic will replace the word, "Donna" and the image tags will replace the color tags

You can also click the "preview" button before posting to see the final result before we do.
