I have an embarressing secret!!!!!!

Jessica, Im in the same shoes, I got so tired of my husbands Aunt complaining about birds I finally posted this in my hallway with a frame....it goes like this...

I love my birds
This is their home
From which I hope
They'll never roam

They're faithful friends
I love them best
This is their home
YOU are the guest

If birds to you
Are just a peeve
Then by all means
Fell free to LEAVE!!!

Well his Aunt saw that and thought it was horrible to have that sitting in my entrance way, but you know what, she never again, complained about my birds!!

People just don't get it until they own a bird....

It's nice to know I am not the only one who talks about their birds like they are their kids. I always tell people they are my kids, or fids. Feathered children are the best.

Jessica, welcome to the flock! Everyone here loves to hear bird stories, especially if they're the one telling the story! I'll bet you have lots of stories and even some advice to offer. I have a little Quaker named Barlow. She's quite a pill but I adore her! And if you promise not to tell, I let you in on my secret....... I'm going away for the summer and I think I'll miss my bird more than my fiance! :-X

Haha, I feel ya! My friends are sick of me squaking about my birds all the time too. But they just call me "bird crazy" and then listen. I have slowly gotten my friends to get birds instead of dogs, and they are starting to understand what great companions "fibs" make (Btw I am going to start using that now, thanks!). I am 22, and I know this sounds a little embarrassing, but I have stopped going out because we got new babies! I have turned down dates and friends, just so I can stay home and play in case the babies wake up. I am going out of town for two months and I think I am going to miss my fibs more than anyone else. I have been buying a stock of toys and different things to keep them entertained! Hopefully they won't get upset at me. So yeah I feel ya.
